According to the 2000 United States Census Fillmore had a population of 15,002 residents spanning 4,156 households There are approximately 4,400 housing units in Fillmore Piru, 64.3 % of homes are owner occupied and 35.7% are renter or lease holder occupied. The Elkins Ranch Golf Course is one of the cities most beloved attractions, which offers an 18-hole, PGA championship golf course, practice facilities, a pro shop and snack bar that offers delicious snacks and appetizers.

Beautiful nature sites surround both Fillmore and Piru. Residents and visitors can take in the sights in the Los Padres National Forest which include the San Cayetano Mountain peak.
